There is a potential for the sensor cellular signal to be affected by crop growth. Plants are about 80% water and cellular signals do not transmit well through water. As a result, as the crop grows the cellular signal may degrade. This is mostly dependent upon the strength of the signal at the sensor station.
If there is a strong cellular signal at the station then crop growth will probably not affect communication. If there is a weak signal, it is possible to add an antenna extension to the station. Connecting a wired 3m antenna extension allows installing the antenna at a higher position.
